About The Position:
Better Living Home Care offers a number of services to help seniors, people with disability and chronically ill individuals to remain independent and comfortable in their own homes, for as long as possible. We are looking for reliable, caring, compassionate and dedicated caregivers to support our vision in providing excellent and quality services to our clients in the Langley, Surrey, White Rock and Delta areas. About you:
- Positive attitude and pleasing personality
- Knowledgeable with urinary catheters, feeding tubes, wound care, ostomies, medication administration (subcutaneous/intramuscular injections, insulin administration)
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Excellent organization, multitasking, and leadership skills
- Enjoyment in social activities, and one-on-one engagement
- Flexible (must be available weekdays, weekends and available at short notice)
- Know his/her limitations
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Enables clients to stay in their homes by monitoring and documenting their condition, providing support and personal services.
- Assists clients with their personal needs such as bathing, grooming, dressing, feeding, oral care, feeding, and incontinence care
- Perform light housekeeping (dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning bathroom/kitchen, changing linens, laundry and ironing, pet/plant care and more)
- Grocery shopping, appointments, and other errands
- Provide meal planning and preparation
- Follows the client care plan and records client’s daily activities
- Maintains a safe home environment for the client
- Engage clients to social and recreational activities
- Reminds the client to take self-administered medications
- Provides transportation assistance to outings, appointments, and outings
- Must have a smart cellphone and data to access online documentation system
- Must have a reliable vehicle to transport clients
Required Education and Experience:
- +1 year previous related work or personal experience
- Completion of High school, Certificate/Diploma
- Care Aide Certification with BC Care Aide Registry Number is an asset
- Related work or personal experience may be considered
- Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check
- First aid certificate is required (or willing to obtain one)
- Valid Driver’s License with a Clean Driver’s Abstract
